SYSEM REQUIREMENTS
This game is designed for a PC running Direct X7 or higher. A 3D card and a strong processor are no doubt essential for smooth running. The game runs in a 800x600 resolution by default. You can access an easier 640x480 resolution by holding down the SPACE BAR while the game loads up (you have to be quick!). Note that the game presentation is not designed for such a low resolution, so use it only as a last resort...

---------------------------------------------------------------------- THE GAME -------------------------------------------------------------------------

Big BumpZ is a wrestling simulator that dedicates itself to the art of performing death-defying, awe-inspiring stunts! In painfully realistic 3D, players put their bodies on the line in a bid to entertain the world and score big points. A good performance demands spectacular high-flying moves, life-threatening impacts, and a flair for destruction

The game revolves around a balance between points and health. You enter a stage with 100% health, and must decide how to spend that health in order to achieve a strong score. Points are primarily awarded for performing moves. Each wrestler has 3 styles of jump at their disposal, and by rotating their bodies correctly they can execute dozens of different moves. Some are significantly harder or riskier than others, and it is those moves that yield the most points. Moves are also subject to a "Distance Bonus" of either 25% or 50% depending on how far the wrestler jumped.

Moves are only the backbone of a performance though. For a truly great score you need to combine good moves with inventive destruction! Each stage is littered with vulnerable items, which can be crushed when landed on - providing additional points. Some items are potentially more painful than others and will yield more points accordingly. You can rearrange the items as you see fit - even stacking them ontop of one another for extra flair. Furthermore, you can set fire to certain items - which is twice as impressive (and dangerous)! Fellow human beings are also categorized as items, and can be crushed for bonus points...

The catch here is that you always have to be careful with your body - because you only collect your points if you survive...

GAME MODES
The main game mode is a Career mode whereby you must play through 15 challenges en route to becoming a wrestling superstar. Each level tests your ability to perform via increasingly demanding challenges that are conveyed to you via a short conversation. You must achieve the given target or complete the given challenge - with health to spare - in order to progress to the next round. Failure is a risky affair. You will be taken to hospital where a doctor treats your wounds as best he can. Whatever health he manages to restore is what you are left with to continue your Career. Very rarely will it be enough to perform well, and you may even find yourself crippled and forced into retirement...

The remaining game modes are practice, exhibition, and tag team. Practice gives you a plentiful supply of health with which to experiment with the game on any chosen level. Exhibition is a customized contest whereby the players involved attempt to achieve the highest score possible with the standard health. Tag Team is a 2-a-side version of an exhibition, whereby the team with the best combined score will be declared winners. A hi score record and a championship belt are acknowledged in all game modes except practice...

-------------------------------------------------------------------- CONTROLS ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The game can be controlled by either keyboard or gamepad at all times. In a multiplayer contest the players are required to use the "hot seat" method, whereby the active player assumes the controls. Below are the default settings, which can be redefined in the game's Options.

----------------------------------------------------------------------- EDITOR ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Upon completing the Career mode you will be given full access to the Editor. Here you can create your own roster of up to 28 characters. You dress a character limb by limb with the image of your choice. The chosen image can also have its colour scheme finely adjusted with the Q, A, W, S, E, D keys. For your convenience there are several shortcuts such as pressing Space to randomize, pressing Right Ctrl/Shift to copy and paste from another limb, and using keys 1-5 to skip to key places in the list of 140 textures. The backbone of a character's appearance is their 3D model - of which there are 15 varieties. You may find that some models use your texture choices slightly differently. Upon pressing Save & Exit a photo will be taken of your character - so make sure they're facing the right way!
